June 30, 2020 – At around 8:30 p.m. in the residential area of Highland on Monday, June 29th, an 11-year old girl was struck by an SUV heading southbound on Church Street. She was out for an evening walk with her cousins, whom she was visiting in Los Angeles from her hometown of Denver.
The young girl has been identified as Annika Fullerton. The victim’s aunt, Donna Eady, told KTLA that the girl’s mother had recently completed cancer treatment and was on the road to recovery.
“She just finished her chemotherapy in December and you know, she was coming back to feeling like she has a normal life. And now her life will never be normal again. Never,” Eady said.
Police is still searching for the driver. Anyone who has any information about the collision is being asked to call Deputy T. Houn or the Highlight Police Department Detective Bureau at 909-425-9793.
