Norman Kent, an 81-year old Navy veteran was a victim of a fatal hit-and-run crash in Santa Ana last Friday.
Kent was crossing the street and stopped at the median to wait for the cars on the other side of the road to stop before continuing. While waiting, the driver of a white Jeep Grand Cherokee struck Kent and drove away without stopping to check on the victim.
Officers arrived at the scene and found Kent on the roadway. Paramedics immediately followed and tried to treat Kent, but due to his severe injuries, he was pronounced dead.
The incident was caught on video surveillance from neighboring establishments and the police department and Kent’s family are asking for everyone’s help to find the assailant.
