The northbound 4 Freeway was temporarily closed early Monday morning after a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s transport bus hit and killed a pedestrian.
The Sheriff’s Department’s transport bus usually transports inmates, however, at the time of the crash, the driver was the only person in the vehicle.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crashed happened near Osborne Street in the Arleta area. Authorities have not released any information on the victim.
Pedestrian accidents and injuries can still happen even when there are traffic lights, pedestrian crossings or crosswalks, lane barriers, and fences. Drivers nowadays are easily distracted by their phones, whether they’re texting, talking or watching a video. The extent of injuries caused by pedestrian accidents vary from minor to severe injuries, even causing death.
