Around 3:15 pm on Wednesday, multiple calls were received by 911 reporting the hit-and-run accident in the 4300 block of Cypress Avenue, El Monte city. Lt. Christopher Cano of the El Monte Police Department was one of the police officers who responded and found the woman who had been struck.
The victim was sent to the Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center, where she was admitted and later listed in critical but stable condition. Witnesses were able to illustrate the vehicle that struck the victim and reviewing the home surveillance cameras in the area led the investigators to develop further leads directing them to the suspect’s home.
The suspect was alleged to be under the influence of alcohol when the accident happened. Further investigation is being conducted. The suspect’s identity will not yet be revealed until the person is formally booked.
