According to South Gate police Lt. Roman Amador, the accident happened around 7:45 PM on Sunday on Firestone Boulevard east of Alameda Street. Daniel Guerrero, a young father at 23 years old, left his home in Cudahy to go buy his 5-month-old daughter some diapers. Driving his way to the store, he was struck by another vehicle causing it to be in flames and killing both drivers on the spot.
Witnesses relayed to the police that a Dodge Charger and BMW were seen racing on the street when one of them lost control and struck Guerrero’s car. Further investigation is being done with the alleged street racing. The family members are calling out for justice for Guerrero and his orphaned young daughter and have set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for the funeral.
